​Sonny Mac is a Canadian singer, songwriter and musician who's unique style and vision, while based in classic country music, is varied and eclectic. Inspired by the nostalgic singing cowboys of the past, Sonny Mac writes songs that - while at times being tongue in cheek - are always honest and real. Sonny Mac’s music can make you laugh, shout and cheer, or at other times put a tear in your eye. ​Sonny Mac broke on to the scene in 2019 when he released his first album entitled Sonny Mac "Sings". He enjoyed the enthusiastic response to his music and as most of the world started to shut down for the pandemic, Sonny continued to write and record songs. As well as recording new original material, it was during this time that Sonny started the yearly tradition of recording and releasing the Sonny Mac "Classics" cover album series as well as the Sonny Mac Christmas series. In April of 2023 Sonny Mac celebrated his next official original release entitled "Borrachon" - a 20 song country concept album. This new album showcases an exploration of different songwriting techniques and styles as well as an overarching story that, while you can enjoy listening to in separate chapters, is best experienced by listening to the album all the way through. During the "Borrachon" album release promotional tour, Sonny Mac recorded and released 2 live albums. In July of 2024 Sonny released his 3rd original album entitled "NIGHT RIDER BALLADS" which is a prequel to the events of "Borrachon" - it tells the story of when Sonny Mac first met his dark reflection: The Night Rider.
